The dual title in this job posting is going to require some clarification, so here we go. We’re looking for an experienced marketing professional to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this role are centered around content marketing and social media, but we’d also like you to contribute to other parts of our clients overall marketing programs. We’re a small agency, so you will be involved with and touch almost every aspect of our work for our clients, not just the content marketing needs. The reason we’ve added “Marketing Strategist” to this job description is simple: we want someone with the experience to look at a company, understand their positioning and goals, and be able to say “here’s what we’re going to do and why”. You’ll be working with a team, but if we take a vacation day and need you to lead a client call – we want someone with the experience that our clients feel confident in.
You will be responsible for the strategic planning, creation, and execution of our clients’ content marketing campaigns. This will primarily involve building a content marketing strategy, creating content in alignment with the plan, and then handling publishing, sharing, and promoting each content piece on appropriate channels. Examples include creating case studies, thought leadership blogs, project updates, employee profiles, event spotlights, and other types of written content to publish to our clients’ website, share through the appropriate social media channels, and in many cases turn these posts into paid ads based on audiences we’re targeting.
You will be in charge of making sure we have the appropriate creative to share in conjunction with these posts, including anything from featured images, event photography, video, or images created specifically for each post type. You don’t have to be a designer, videographer or photographer – we have tools and team members who can help with that, but you will own the overall campaign.
There are also a number of larger content pieces we produce for our clients on a regular basis. They may be booklets, 1-page sales flyers, PowerPoint presentations, video scripts, press releases, e-books, and more that you would collaborate with our internal team and the client on the topic/theme/positioning, and then be in charge of creating that final deliverable with the help of our Director of Ops and a designer.
We are a small, collaborative team so you will also assist on:
