Marketing Associate

Job Description:

As a Marketing Associate, you will play a critical role in executing our clients’ marketing programs. You will be the driving force behind project timelines and milestones, ensuring that strategic goals are met. This role requires a blend of project coordination, copywriting, and hands-on digital marketing tasks. Daily activities may include writing campaign project plans with the assistance of a Marketing Strategist; writing, publishing and distributing blogs and social media posts; creating and managing paid social media campaigns for clients, primarily on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram; and creating client-facing reports on website traffic, SEO, PPC campaigns, and social media reach.

What an Average Day Will Look Like:

You will create a meeting agenda for a regular client meeting and ensure all related materials are ready for presentation/discussion. You will work with a Marketing Strategist to answer any directional questions you may have, fill in any gaps in our execution plan, and make sure we are prepped and ready to wow the client. During the meeting, you will take notes, document action items coming out of that meeting, and distribute a meeting follow up report to all in attendance. You will be responsible for coordinating the production and delivery of all of the action items coming out of that meeting, by assigning other team members or contractors to tasks that are required, or handling yourself with the guidance of a Marketing Strategist. Examples may include changes to geographic targeting for a search campaign, launching a LinkedIn paid campaign, writing a design brief for new digital display ads, writing a press release, putting together a first draft of a video script, reaching out to media reps to research costs involved with a TV campaign, or researching a client’s competitors online to help us shape our positioning. 

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary project manager for clients via Basecamp, email, and ad hoc calls.
  • Set and manage meetings, timelines and milestones for the delivery of strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Contribute to monthly reports, Quarterly Business Reviews, and support Strategists with reviewing performance data.
  • Assist in onboarding new clients, including persona development and customer journey creation.
  • Assist in the execution of strategic marketing campaigns at the direction of Strategists to meet client goals. 
  • Monitor marketing campaign success and report progress to Strategists, adjusting plans based on performance.
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients’ industries and business models to present ideas and opportunities aligned with their goals.

Paid Media & Digital Marketing Support

  • Assist Strategist and Digital Marketing team with Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Meta Ads account setups,  creation, monitoring, and regular reporting. 
  • Review Google Analytics and lead reports for client campaigns to ensure their lead goals are being met. 
  • Monitor paid campaign performance including are within acceptable metrics for overall cost and cost of customer acquisition. 
  • Review lead flow with clients to determine lead quality and optimize campaigns accordingly. 
  • Write blog content and post to social media. Promote certain content to targeted audiences through paid campaign targeting. 
  • Create meeting agendas, weekly status reports, and monthly progress reports. 
  • Actively seek additional work and projects when available.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in digital marketing, client management, or related roles.
  • Understanding of digital marketing channels, including PPC, SEO, social media, and content marketing.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
  • Familiarity with Google Ads, Facebook Ads, WordPress, LinkedIn and HubSpot.
  • Ability to contribute to thought leadership through blog writing, social media, or co-marketing activities.
  • Proven ability to write effectively for various audiences for blog posts, social media post, press releases. We will include a writing assignment as part of the interview process!
