Marketing Strategist

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Strategist to join our agency. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with clients to develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies that fuel growth and achieve business goals. You’ll be the client’s trusted marketing advisor, setting the overall strategy and guiding a cross-functional team of creatives with the help of a project manager, helping clients stand out in the market and drive ROI through strategic marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive, long-term marketing strategies for clients based on audits of their current assets, business objectives, and market research.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with Owners/C-suite executives and senior client stakeholders. Act as the main point of contact, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Campaign Execution: Oversee the day-to-day implementation of marketing strategies, working closely with Project Managers to ensure all work is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the overall marketing plan.
  • Reporting and Campaign Optimization. Pull and analyze regular reports on marketing campaign performance to assess overall campaign health, identify key trends, and provide actionable insights for optimization and improvement.
  • Brand Positioning & Messaging: Craft and refine brand positioning, messaging, and strategies that differentiate clients from competitors and resonate with their target audience.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams (designers, project managers, copywriters, digital marketing specialists ,etc.) to implement strategic initiatives, monitor performance, and optimize marketing efforts for better results.
  • Performance & ROI Tracking: Regularly assess campaign effectiveness, utilizing data analytics to drive improvements. Present monthly and quarterly reports on campaign outcomes, ROI, and strategic recommendations.
  • Growth & Upsell Opportunities: Identify new opportunities within existing client relationships to expand service offerings, deliver value, and drive additional revenue.
  • Client Education: Continuously share knowledge of industry trends, emerging marketing strategies, and best practices to educate clients and keep their strategies cutting-edge.
  • Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and specialists. Collaborate on internal pitches and lead the development of pitch materials.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in developing and executing strategic marketing plans, either in an agency or as part of an in-house marketing team. 
  • Proven ability to deliver measurable results through traditional and digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of demand generation, CRM strategies, and customer lifecycle marketing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and results to C-level executives.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Experience building and fostering strong client relationships and managing client feedback effectively.
  • Understanding of digital marketing channels, including PPC, SEO, social media, and content marketing.
  • Familiarity with Google Ads, Meta Ads, WordPress, LinkedIn and HubSpot.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.

  • We are a small agency, but have been around for 15 years. Our clients trust us and our longevity and client retention rate speaks for itself.
  • While we do accept project work, the majority of our work are long-term engagements that are consistent each month. Our Fractional CMO/Fully Outsourced Marketing engagements mean for many of our clients – we ARE their marketing team. We integrate with their team, and lead all things marketing.
  • Many of our clients are B2B, but we also have several that are B2C.
  • This is a fully remote role, we have team members in Baltimore, MD and Raleigh, NC.
